This stunning special edition Lotus Exige Scura - "dark" in Italian - is due to make its grand debut at this year's Tokyo International Motorshow starting from today.

The stealth-looking Exige features a dramatic soft-feel matte black paint finish, high gloss 'Phantom Black' triple stripes running the length of the car and lightweight carbon fibre for the front splitter, oil cooler inlet vanes, side airscoops and rear spoiler.

The 2015 Lotus Elise is powered with a supercharged 2.0-L 4-cylinder engine system which produces 296 hp and 345 hp. The car is coupled to a robotized manual transmission with 1095 kg which should be fairly quick.

The new 2015 Lotus Elise features shark enthused styling, floating taillights and a range of carbon fiber components. Moreover the car has a longer extruded aluminum chassis, entry and door of the car should be enhanced greatly.

The company was formed as Lotus Engineering Ltd. by engineer Colin Chapman, a graduate of University College, London, in 1952. The first factory was in old stables behind the Railway Hotel in Hornsey, North London.
